ROUND SCAD

Round scad is found scattered across many oceanic regions worldwide. In Vietnam, it primarily inhabits the coastal waters of the Central region, the Gulf of Tonkin, and the Southeast region.

It typically spawns in July each year when it surfaces to feed and reproduce.

The flesh is moderately tender, sweet in flavor, and free of fishy odors, making it an ideal ingredient for various dishes. Besides, it is rich in unsaturated fatty acids that helps regulate blood sugar levels, making it suitable for individuals with diabetes. Additionally, consuming round scad can help limit the intake of hard-to-digest saturated fats, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and improving heart function.
